Madeira Island Hiking & Levada Walks
Madeira has great walking and trekking conditions all year round for everyone. There are several walking companies on the island offering various walks through the indigenous UNESCO World heritage forests, subtropical fauna and outstanding views. Some walks can be done without a guide, but the Tourist board recommends that you walk with a walking company and their certified mountain guides. There are plenty of levada walks at all different levels, and these treks are a great opportunity to really enjoy the amazing plant life in Madeira.
