The Memling in Sint-Jan Hospitaalmuseum was originally the 12th century Hospital of Saint John. In the 1400s the painter Hans Memling arrived in Brugge to study under Rogier van der Weyden  and became the leading painter of Brugge. The Mystic Marriage of St Catherine and the St John Altarpiece are two of six works that are displayed.
