By Air

Flights regularly land at Rotterdam The Hague Airport from major cities in neighbouring countries, operated by various airlines. Continuing your journey to Rotterdam Central Station is quick and easy by car (car rental via Sixt) or taxi (10 min), the RandstadRail + Airport Shuttle bus 50 (15 min) or the Airport Shuttle bus 33 or 12 (20-25 min).

You can also fly to Amsterdam Schiphol Airport or Eindhoven Airport and take the train to Rotterdam. From Eindhoven airport you can easily get to Rotterdam in less than 1.5 hours: take the bus to Eindhoven (3 euro) and then the train to Rotterdam (17 euro). Ryanair offers cheap flights from Stansted,UK to Eindhoven.

By Train

Rotterdam offers excellent train connections. The international highspeed trains stop here, but intercity trains from all over the Netherlands also call at Rotterdam Central Station. The train station is an easy walk (or tram ride) to anywhere in the city.

Rotterdam can be reached easily from France and Belgium with the Thalys high-speed train. The Thalys high-speed train makes Rotterdam just a short trip from Antwerp (30 min), Brussels (1 h 11 min) and Paris (2 h 36 min). The Thalys now runs ten times a day. Travellers from the UK can take the Eurostar to Brussels and transfer to the Thalys there.

The Fyra of NS Hispeed is the comfortable train that travels over the high-speed rail line. This offers the fastest connection between Amsterdam and Rotterdam via Schiphol Airport. Fyra runs twice per hour, from early morning to late evening. The Fyra makes Rotterdam just a short trip from Amsterdam (43 min) and Schiphol (26 min). When travelling with the Fyra, you need an NS ticket plus Fyra ticket supplement. This paper ticket supplement is available via the NS website, NS self-servcie ticket machines, the NS Service Desk, the NS Hispeed Desk, NS Hispeed Telesales and travel agents.

By Boat

Rotterdam is easily accessible from the UK by boat. Hook of Holland, just half an hour from Rotterdam Central Station, is the port of call for the boat from Harwich, England operated by Stena Line. The P&O Ferries vessel from Hull, England arrives in Rotterdam Europoort, where a direct shuttle bus from De Jong Tours stands ready to take passengers to Rotterdam.

By Car/Coach

Rotterdam is easily accessible by the A13, A15, A16 en A20 motorways. Various parking options are available in the city.
