Zermatt is a town for tourists which means that there are special events and festivals that take place here all year round. Many of the events revolve around sports (such as skiing and golf), but others focus on music, food, and celebrations.

The Matterhorn Eagle Cup is a golf tournament that has been taking place in Zermatt for 15 years in a row. It occurs in August, and takes place on natural alpine meadows, which means it’s located in an area with beautiful surroundings.

The Ski-Mountaineering Race in Zermatt has been an annual event for the past six years. There are several competitions that take place for men, women and juniors. Trophies are awarded for the various race categories. The event takes place each February.

Zermatt’s Annual Folklore Parade takes place every year in August and is a festival that celebrates the traditions of Switzerland and touts the culture and customs that still exist here. There is a parade that typically has more than 1,000 participants. Music that is traditional to Zermatt is played and food is available. The food normally served at this event is traditional Swiss food, including bratwurst.

On August 1, Switzerland celebrates a national holiday and Zermatt celebrates by hosting a festival that includes live music, food, and other forms of entertainment. Locals as well as tourists attend this event.
