Zermatt is not just a place to go for skiing and snowboarding. There are many other outdoor activities that can be enjoyed here.

Ice Climbing – Visitors can take either a guided group tour or an individual/private tour to an area perfect for ice climbing. Beginners are usually taken to a frozen waterfall and are taught how to use ice climbing equipment. Along with the tour, the price includes all of the items necessary for the day as well as lunch and drinks.

Snow Shoeing – Snowshoeing is a sport that just about anyone can do, no matter their skill level. There are many snowshoeing trails in the Zermatt area, and some are harder than others. This is a good activity for people vacationing in Zermatt with their families, including children. Snowshoes can be rented from many of the town’s shops.

Tobogganing – In Zermatt, there are designated areas where people can go tobogganing. This activity is not allowed on the ski runs, but is allowed in several other areas. This is an activity that people of all ages (including children) find fun and exciting.

Nordic Walking – Visitors can enjoy a Nordic walking tour during both the summer and the winter in Zermatt. There are guided tours that take groups on one of the trails in the area.
