Murren is a traffic free village  just watch out for the electric cars!  If you are feeling energetic follow the path along the side of the railway line to Winteregg , relax at cafe while you wait for the train to take you along the valley side to the new cable car back down to Lauterbrunnen - or walk for another 40min to the cable car. If you have a head for heights stand at the front and you can see where the old funicular used to run.

Catch the number 101 bus from right outside Interlaken West Station to the truly  beautiful unspoilt villiage of Beatenberg. A fantastic  20 minute scenic bus ride up the mountain road from Interlaken brings you to this Alpine Paradise.  Beatenberg boasts one of the very  best Panoramic views of the Alps , the Eigor Monch and Jungfrau stand proudly in front of you whilst Lake Thun glistens below.  This is chocolate Box Switzerland, cute Houses, Cows happily grazing in the green pastures and a nice selection of restaurants.

Dont miss the Niederhorn whilst in Beatenberg, catch the cable car from the Beatenberg Station . The views and hikes hiking from here  are truly spectacular. In good weather, if you enjoy bicycling, you can rent them at a number of shops or at Interlaken West train station. Biking through town or along the lakes is very picturesque, with lots of charming moments - try out an e bike, which can make every hill a breeze to go up with their pedal assistance. As a highly memorable day trip, take the train uphill to Kandersteg, which is at relatively high elevation about a half hour from Interlaken via Spietz. Rent bicycles at the Kantersteg train station, enjoy the charming town (recommend the ski lift to Oeschinensee, with a cafe on the mountain lake), and then saddle up and ride an easy 20 miles on gentle downhill paths and back roads back down to Spietz. You turn your bicycles back in at the train station there (recommend a nice desert or beer at the train station's cafe) and take the 10 minute train ride back to Interlaken. The little-traveled back roads down from Kandersteg are well-marked for bicycles along the way, and take you through patches of forest with dramatic mountain scenery and through serene, fenced pasture land right alongside farm houses and cows, almost always going downhill mile after mile.

IN LAUTERBRUNNEN DONT MISS TRUMMELBACH FALLS...10 glacier waterfalls thunder down INSIDE a mountain and can be viewed by walking, climbing stairs &/or riding an elevator.
