Lucerne has so much history and culture that there is a great deal of things to do in the town. Everyone who comes to the town should walk across the Chapel Bridge, which was built in the 14th Century as part of the towns fortifications. You can take a ferry around Lake Lucerne and take in the sights around the town and surrounding mountains. Afterwards, you can head to Verkehrshaus, which is the Swiss Transport Museum. This is just barely outside of the town, but still on the lake. This museum even has an IMAX theater, and you can do plenty of things inside. You can take a bus to get there. You can also take a cable car up to Mt. Pilatus, which is considered the landmark for Lucerne. This spot will also give you an amazing view of the area. Mt. Rigi also offers the same features, as well as cable cars to get to the top. There are also the outdoor attractions to do. In the summer you can go mountain biking, hiking, and swimming in the lake. In the winter you can go skating and skiing.
