In the countryside of Sicily you will often be able to find people playing games of soccer(futbol). It's harder to find things like that going on in a bigger city, but sometimes on the outskirts you can find some sports going on. Most of the sports you would be able to do in Sicily would be based on the water, for obvioius reasons--there is practically no flat land in Sicily, and there is water all around. Weather it's windsurfing, fishing, or scuba diving, there are plenty of things to do on the water. If you don't want to be out on the water, however, you can do things on land as well. If you like hiking then you will have a great time hiking up Mt. Etna. Sometimes snow storms can come out of no where and strand hikers for several days. Also, if it is winter, you can ski or snowboard down the mountain. It can be very exciting to be skiing down an active volcano, even for experiences extreme atheletes.
