Sicily is a great place to bring a family if you are touring through Europe, or if you are just Italian and want to teach your family about your heritage. However, because it is a long journey and can usually cost a good amount of money, it might not be ideal for families with young children or families that are traveling on a budget. When traveling around the island, you will find that the tourists are usually in older demographics, and sometimes the patrons of hotels will get annoyed by loud children. This can especially be a problem in restaurants. Luckily, you can usually find a pizza shop in larger towns and cities, and they will serve anything from pizza to salads. Try not to be a picky eater in Sicily though. You will not be able to find much chicken or any fast food restaurants. Sicily does not have theme parks or roller coaster rides. The thrills of the island are had by witnessing the history, the beautiful landscapes, and meeting the locals. If you think this is something your family might not be interested in, then this might not be the place for you. However, if you are interested in these things, this is the perfect place to vacation.
