RivaReno Gelato has none of the flowery and frilly designs of the usual  "gelaterie", nor does one see the gelato on display. The interior design is simple, linear and very streamlined-chic.

The menu has unusual names for flavours: Alice, Leonardo, San Luca, etc. It takes the knowledge of Italian to decipher what these names mean. But the sales person often offers tasting samples(free) for each of the flavours with those special names. The taste and mouth-feel of their gelato is luscious and sensual, to say the least. "Alice" is a most amazing blend of mascarpone with gianduja(a concoction of chocolate and hazelnut cream sauce). San Luca is mouthwatering with white chocolate and rice crispies, original! It may be a bit too sweet, but if eaten with RR's dark bitter chocolate, it becomes a heavenly match!

The qualities  that distinguish RR's gelato from others are  the creamy texture and intense taste. Creamy, because you don't detect any wateriness or iciness that one notices in other gelato. Intense, because the flavours have all the qualities that natural ingredients impart, in other words, RR use real ingredients, nothing fake.

This gelateria is in the Navigli district, i.e. not in the city centre.
