There are many different taxi companies located throughout Campania. The thing you will need to figure out is where you are going, and then you can find the cab driver to take you there.

If you are staying in a city like Naples, for example, there will be plenty of taxis all over the place all day long. If you are staying in a smaller town away from a big city, however, you will find that it is a bit harder to get a taxi. If you are staying at a hotel or resort, they will call a taxi for you, however.

The prices for taxis will vary depending on where you are in Campania, but they shouldn't be too expensive. In a larger city there will be pre-determined fare costs, but if you are in a smaller town you can usually agree on a price with the driver before even leaving. It definitely helps to know a little bit of Italian for dealing with the drivers, but if you don't speak any at all it won't be the end of the world. Just make sure you know how to pronounce where you are going properly, and they will take care of the rest.

Renting a car in Campania is a good idea because there are many things to see and some of them are spread out, including Pompeii, Naples, and the Isle of Capri. One thing tourists love to do is drive on the Amalfi Coast, which has many winding turns and drop offs that make it seem like you are going to fall off of a cliff into the ocean. You need to be careful on this road, however, as many of the locals will blow by you unannounced.
