Mad About Macarons

A macaron is a French sweet meringue-based confection made with eggs, icing sugar, granulated sugar, almond powder or ground almond, and food coloring. Macarons are very popular in Madrid now and can be found in many sweet shops. Here are some shops in the Barrio Salamanca that make good macarons.

The pastry chef Ricardo Velez started this business in 2006. Sonia Andres joined him as an assistant in 2010. The macarons here are probably the best in the city and are the biggest.
