The Museo de la Ciudad is the City Museum, a museum is little visited, probably because it is not near the center of the city. However it is worth a visit. The third and fourth floors are dedicated to the history of Madrid. On the third floor one can see exhibits that date from the prehistory, the Roman age, the age of the Moors, the age of the Austrias and the age of the Borbons. The fourth floor has exhibits of the 19th and 20th centuries. There are scale models of the most important monuments and sights of the city, such as the Gran Via, the Puerto de Alcala, the Cathedral and the Palacio Real, and the Plaza de Oriente. Many of these scale models have a button where one can see them with their lights on. One spectacular scale model shows all the center of Madrid. There are also mannequins dressed in the typical dress of Madrid, which are used during Madrid's celebrations.
