The year-round weather in Las Palmas is so nice that it’s a popular tourist destination every month of the year. The winter months of December, January and February are when most tourists visit the Canary Islands because the nice warm weather here is sometimes a much needed break from cold temperatures and snow – which may exist in tourists’ home country or city.
During winter months (December, January and February), the daily temperatures are usually a bit cooler than they are during the summer months, but it’s still warm enough for tourists to enjoy the outdoors, the ocean, and all sorts of water activities.
During the summer months (May through October), the weather is a definitely warmer than during the winter months, but there are not as many tourists. So it’s a toss up… crowds during the winter (with cooler weather) or fewer tourists during the summer (with hotter weather). The Canary Islands do receive nice breezes during the summer, so the hot temperatures are bearable, and the evenings can be very pleasant.
The average daily temperature during the summer months is 79 to 82 degrees Fahrenheit (but sometimes higher).
The best airfares can be obtained to Las Palmas during the months of November and December as well as March, April and May – since these are the least popular times for tourists to visit.
