Granada has modern hospitals offering a very high standard of care. Tourists from other European countries should bring the correct documentation so that they will receive free emergency treatment provided by reciprocal healthcare agreements.

 Granada does not have a high crime rate compared to other Spanish cities. Some crime does exist but it is not concentrated in any one area. There is no reason to feel nervous or fearful when walking around Granada even at night. 

In the summer the heat can be searing and visitors should take precaution with sun block and having shade, especially for young children.

Traffic can be busy and visitors should always be careful when crossing the road.
