Hannover’s official site , though frustrating, is quite helpful and can perhaps render a personal visit to the city’s physical office of tourism irrelevant.

What is frustrating is that while the site can be translated into English, the Anglified version is far inferior to its Saxon father.  There are simply more descriptions and lists of attractions and dining and nightlife establishments described in the German form that the non-speaking visitor may want to try his/her luck navigating the original, un-translated pages first.  (What is more, sometimes the details in the German renderings of the content have broken-English adaptations listed below the deutsch).

Should you wish to visit the Oz behind the online guide, go to Ernst-August-Platz 2 or call 0511-12345111 for further information.

Virtueller Stadtrundgang Hannover
provides an alluring virtual tour of the city, and another site worth checking out would be Just Germany’s Hannover section, which features an extensive left-hand side-bar full of valuable visitor suggestions.
