Conveniently located at the crossroads of Europe, Lyon has excellent air, rail and road links, making it easily accessible from major French and European cities, such as Paris, Geneva, Barcelona, London, Milan and Frankfurt. Placed at the heart of the country’s motorway network makes Lyon one hour from Grenoble, an hour and a half from Geneva, only two hours from Clermont-Ferrand and the Alps, three hours from Turin and Marseille, four hours from Paris and six hours from Barcelona.

Fly
A major hub for the region, Lyon Saint Exupéry airport is located 25 km from the town center. It offers flights to more then one hundred destinations. The airport has a TGV (express train) station.

The Rhone Express (http://www.rhonexpress.fr/) provides a convenient rail link between the airport and the city centre. The light rail train runs every 15 minutes and the trip from the airport takes 30 minutes to the main station at Part-Dieu. Taxis from the airport can be very expensive (up to 80 euro at time of writing).

 
There is also a smaller domestic airport, Lyon Bron, near the town center and the exhibition center.

By Rail
The city has two stations in the city center, Part-Dieu and Perrache, and a third at Lyon Saint Exupery Airport, (TGV high-speed train services to all over Europe.) Paris is two hours away, Lille – three, Marseille is just over an hour a half (fifteen trains run in each direction every day) and TGV services also serve Chambery, Annecy and Brussels.  

From London, Eurostar operates year round direct services to Lyon Part-Dieu station taking from 4 hours 45 mins, leaving you free to enjoy the beautiful scenery on the way.
