Anyone looking for a real immersion course for adults (when I was there in August 2007, the average age was somewhere betweeen 35 and 45), there is only one place: the Institut de Français in Villefranche sur mer. Really professional. The staff is dedicated, the teachers extremely helpful and competent. With 8 different levels/classes running each month (it's open all year round, you have to book months in advance), the groups are very homogenous, tailored to experienced. I had attended classes before and I was scared to be in a group with beginners and more advanced, making it dufficult for the teacher to progress at a steady pace. It didn't happen. What's also very impressive are the high profile students who attend: I was in the same class as Rona Ambrose, the Canadian Minister of Environment, 2 Ambassadors and ... me ! To spice up the experience, the school is hosted in a beautiful, Belle Epoque villa, overlooking manucured gardens (somptuous) and the breathtaking bay of Villefranche with Cap Ferrat in the distance. The whole experience was 100% positive, lodging included. It helped me tremendously for my job assignement in Paris. Congratulations.
