Tourist Board Information

There are two tourist offices in central Nice:

Avenue Thiers (Main SNCF Railway station)
Tel 00 33 (0) 892 707 407
Fax 00 33 (0) 4 93 16 85 16

5 Promenade des Anglais
Tel 00 33 (0) 892 707 407
Fax 00 33 (0)4 92 14 48 03

The openings times vary for each branch and change according to the season.

Practical information about this can be found at the official Nice Tourist Office website .
A small counter with tourist information can also be found at both terminals of Nice International Airport .

The information and brochures are free but they have to be requested as they are kept behind the counters. The freely available help yourself leaflets that line the walls of the tourist office are adverts for local businesses, some will have discount offers for example, the leaflet for the open top bus tour of Nice. A large wad of A5 sized peel-off maps of Nice are on the counters. A larger, more detailed map of Nice is available; you need to ask for this. Of all the brochures available, the Practical Guide or Guide Pratique is most useful along with the restaurant guide. Reservations for walking tours of Old Nice can be organised here and there is a free hotel booking service. The staff are efficient but not particularly friendly and not willing to provide any brochures unless specifically requested. The train station tourist office is friendlier than the one on the Promenade des Anglais.

Much information can be gained from the website www.Nicetourisme.com and you can see Nice for yourself via a live web cam which is sited on the roof of the Promenade branch of the tourist office. Brochures, maps and a listing of current exhibitions and events may be ordered in advance of your trip via the this link http://tinyurl.com/fx6wc and some of the documents can be downloaded directly from the website.
