Killarney is filled with history, and much of that history is stored inside of the many museums here. There are several from which to choose, and each holds unique items to see.

A few recommended museums and attractions are:

Corca Dhuibhne Regional Museum : Hours can be spent here since there is so much to see revolving the history of the land. The museum has a café, so the whole day can be spent in the museum. It’s only open from June through September, but can be accessed at other times if an appointment is made.

Dingle Oceanworld Mara Beo: This is a unique aquarium which is home to many rare fish and other types of sea life. Kids and adults can walk through a tunnel that goes through a tank filled with all sorts of fish and sharks.

Kerry Bog Village Museum : Visiting this museum is an experience that cannot be matched anywhere else in the world. It consists of a reconstructed village from the 18th century. It is so realistic that visiting is like taking a step back in time. Located right next to the village is the Red Fox Inn which serves food and authentic Irish coffee that most visitors rave about long after they’ve returned home from their vacation to Ireland.
