Take a horse-drawn jaunting car ride through the grounds of Killarney National Park to Muckross Gardens (a jaunting cart is a horse drawn open-air buggy).

The best place to catch one is outside the International Hotel in Killarney centre. Usually they bring tour participants to Muckross House for around €20 (haggling for a better price is permitted). Another common trip is through the National Park by the Cathedral, along the Deenagh River and along the lake shore to Ross Castle (returning to town by the main road). Make sure you agree on a price beforehand since the jaunting carts are not regulated by any authority other than the ISPCA.

The main locations for the Jarveys is at the mentioned spot in town by the International Hotel, there is usually one at the entrance to the National Park by the Cathedral, often one or two at Ross Castle, many at the first entrance to the Muckross Estate as you drive out of town, sometimes one at the second entrance to the Muckross Estate that leads to Muckross Abbey, occasionally one just outside the Abbey, many many at the special lot in front of Muckross House, and one or two at the base of Torc Waterfall but these are usually waiting for existing clients. And just to exhaust the list, many at Kate Kearney's Cottage for tours up through the Gap of Dunloe.
