The Tenement House is one of many heritage locations belonging to the National Trust for Scotland. It is a typical Victorian four-room flat from around 1892. Not much in the flat has been updated since the early 20th century which gives an accurate historical perspective on life during that time. All furnishings and belongings in the flat belonged to its owner of  over 50 years. A small museum of information is located on the ground floor. The museum is located on the first floor, up two flights of stairs. There are also a number of stairs from street level to the front door of the building, so those with mobility issues might be advised to call the museum ahead of visiting for advice. Open from 1st March until 31st October, from 1pm until 5pm (last entry at 4.30pm).
