Union Terrace Gardens are a beautiful oasis of calm in the centre of Aberdeen, but if you want to go there do it soon because the council in their wisdom have decided to remove about 16 mature trees and build a so called 'art centre'  with a bar, restaurant, and a least one shop, and this wonderful place will be turned into a building site for 2 to 3 years.
