The beautiful River Avon runs through Stratford upon Avon then out along the West of town. You can choose to walk along either side of the River, along the North Bank are the world famous RSC theatres and the Holy Trinity church where Shakespeare is buried, on the South is the Recreation Ground. You can then cross over the River at Lucy Mill and return back along the opposite side. On summer  Sundays brass bands play on the bandstand on the Recreation ground. Sit and laze around in the summer sun whilst listening to the music.

For the more adventurous the path continues out from Lucy Mill into the surrounding countryside. Head out along the River bank and return along the racecourse on the Stratford Greenway.

To get a bit further afield, you can also hire bikes and cycle. Head along the Greenway and stop in Welford to admire the picture postcard thatched cottages located by the Weir. Remember to take your camera!
