Windsor is a good place to both play and watch sports. The city is home to the Ontario Hockey League Spitfires. Now in their new building, the WFCU Centre, any Spitfires game is a pleasure to watch at a reasonable price.  Pre-season games start in September and tickets may be ordered from their website.

Windsor also has a racetrack where horse races are held between October and July, with the heaviest racing occurring between December and March, when races are held 3-4 times a week.

There are a large number of golf courses throughout Windsor and the neighboring area. The ones that are located within city limits are Dominion Golf (phone: 519-969-4350), Roseland Golf Club (519-969-3810) and Seven Lakes Golf Course (519-972-1177). More can be found in Tecumseh, Woodslee, McGregor and Leamington.

Windsor’s Recreation Department maintains many parks and fields for public use. Cricket fields are available at Jackson and Optimist Park . Fields for soccer or rugby can be found at Windsor Stadium or Ford Test Track . Baseball diamonds are located at numerous places around the city. There are also biking and jogging trails in the larger parks in Windsor. During the summer, Lakeview Park Marina opens up to boats, featuring 300 seasonal rental spaces; the 25 transient docks can take vessels up to 115 feet.
