The Maid of the Mist has been bringing visitors to the very edge of the falls since the mid-nineteenth century.
The original Maid of the Mist was a steampowered paddlewheeler ferry, and entered service in 1846. Today, the name Maid of the Mist is shared by four modern diesel-powered ships. Maid of the Mist IV and V carry 300 passengers, Maid of the Mist VI and VII can hold 600 people.
Hooded raincoats are provided for all passengers and you are certain to need them. The wind-driven mist at the base of the falls is astounding and will bring thrills to adventurers of all ages.
