Whistler is a popular tourist destination in British Columbia . Being a great area for visitors, there have been quite a few books written about traveling here. Books range from those which give tips on places to go, maps of the area, and out-of-the-way places not to miss. Following are three Whistler travel books that all come highly recommended.

Hidden British Columbia : Including Vancouver , Victoria , and Whistler, by Eric Lucas, is a book that contains detailed maps, suggested tours, recommendations for summer and winter activities, and information about many of the parks in the area. Also, Lucas lists information about many of the hotels, bed and breakfasts, and all other types of visitor accommodations.

Frommer's British Columbia & the Canadian Rockies, by Bill McRae and Donald Olson, is a book that attempts to steer visitors to Whistler (and all other parts of British Columbia) away from overly-touristy areas. One of the main goals of the books is to give readers inside information about where the locals go for good food and entertainment. The book contains information on how much things cost, maps, and other details that other travel guides may leave out.

The Whistler Book: All-Season Outdoor Guide, by Jack Christie, is a guide written specifically for people planning a trip to Whistler, as opposed to guide books that include information about  all of British Columbia. It contains information about all of the outdoor activities Whistler has to offer.
