Butchart Gardens Tours

Cruise Victoria — yes, they are a bus company — offers numerous daily summer departures to and from the Butchart Gardens and they also operate daily in the winter.They now pick-up directly from the Victoria cruise ship terminal for arriving passengers taking their tours.

Fresh Air Tours  offers private city tours for groups of up to 14 as well as tours to Butchart Gardens.  They will pick you up at the Ogden Point Cruise Ship terminal, ferry terminals, or any hotel in Victoria.

Victoria's London Taxi Tours offers tours for groups of up to 4 in a real London taxi out to Butchart Garden. They can pick you up at your hotel or other location and after the tour drop you off back at your hotel or other spot. This tour includes downtown Victoria and a trip out to Craigdarroch Castle.  They also have a 10 passenger wheelchair accessible van, with a wheelchair lift.

Victoria's Gray Line West offers a Butchart Gardens tour.  It departs from in front of the Empress Hotel and is a fully narrated tour all the way up to the gardens and all the way back. Tours are typically 3 hours long but if you feel that you would like more time at the gardens, you are allowed to arrive on an earlier tour bus and return on a later one.

Victoria City Tours

Cruise Victoria also offers tours of the city, at a cost of $28 per passenger for 1 1/2 hours. Kids travel for 1/2 price. Tours depart daily, you can call for reservations for a free hotel pick-up or you can go to their departure point at 721 Government Street - in front of the Fairmont Empress Hotel. Look for the blue and white umbrella and kiosk. Highlights of the tour include Chinatown, Antique Row, Songhees Viewpoint, Rockland, Mt. Tolmie, Oak Bay and Marine Drive.

Fresh Air Tours combines a city tour with a Butchart Gardens tour, as mentioned in the section above. They also have a 2-hour tour of Victoria. 

Gray Line West offers city tours as well, which include Chinatown, Antique Row, the Inner Harbour, views of Mt. Baker and San Juan Islands, and the exclusive residential areas of Uplands and Oak Bay. Gray Line is the only company that offers the old style double decker buses. Cost in 2012 was $34.00 for an adult.

Victoria's London Taxi Tours offers tours for groups of up to 4 in a real London taxi or for larger groups in a van.They offer downtown tours , wine tours, and  tours designed for an individual's interests. The van is wheelchair accessible and has a wheelchair lift. Tours range from 2 hours up.

Victoria Hop On - Hop Off

CVS Sightseeing Hop On Tour offering a unique hop on - hop off service including 5 major stops at Chinatown, Craigdarroch Castle, Oak Bay Village, Cook Street Village and Beacon Hill Park. This tour takes in more of Victoria than any of the other hop on - hop off services. The bus is also a little more upscale and includes a washroom on many departures. On warm summer days, the tour is done in an open air coach that is perfect for taking photos. They offer frequent service, a $32.00 adult price and a 2 day pass for $45. They are also the only company that offers free hotel pick-up that is not part of the tour. An interesting side note - CVS operates buses using an environmentally friendly 100% bio-fuel.

There is also an all day cycling experience, incorporating the renowned local bike trail system, tastes of artisanal spirits, wine and cider locally made on the peninsula, and a lunch at a beautiful orchard. WalkAbouts Historical Tours specializes in historical tours. They offer two public tours of about 90 minutes each.  One is of the city's heritage buildings, unique areas and characters from the past.  The second is of the Fairmont Empress Hotel, conducted seasonally.  Other tours are arranged for groups.
