There are two visitor information centres located in Tofino, one downtown, the other on the outskirts of town. They are operated by Tourism Tofino, a Destination Marketing Organization:
Tourism Tofino
P.O. Box 249
Tofino, B.C. V0R 2Z0
Phone: 250-725-3414
Fax: 250-725-3296
You can also visit Tourism Tofino's web site or e-mail inquiries to info@tourismtofino.com. Be sure to take a look at their online calendar of events , which covers the entire year so you can decide when to visit and plan your trip far in advance.
Vancouver Island has its own destination marketing organization based out of Nanaimo, an inland city about 200 km from Tofino. It would be reasonable to call the office's toll free phone number (1-888-655-3483) or visit their web site if you plan to travel around Vancouver Island extensively; if Tofino is your only destination, it may still be useful to visit the board’s web site or request brochures be mailed to your home.
It’s also a good idea to look at maps of Vancouver and British Columbia when you are planning your trip. If you’re unfamiliar with the area’s geography and driving distances, take a look at this driving distance calculator . If you’ve ever been frustrated trying to figure out how long it will take you to drive between two cities, you will appreciate this – it includes just about every city you’d ever visit in British Columbia.
