The town of Jasper has an activity center and an aquatic center. The Jasper Activity Centre (303 Pyramid Avenue) features squash, racquetball, tennis, weight room, gymnasium, curling rink, a hockey rink and a climbing wall, while the Jasper Aquatic Centre (401 Pyramid Lake Road) has a swimming pool, kiddie pool, water slide, steam room, whirlpool, and also outdoor volleyball.  For other outdoor games, there is Centennial Park, right in the center of town, which has three baseball diamonds, a soccer/rugby field and a picnic area. There are five playgrounds and several other parks in the area as well, including a recently completed skate park for inline skates, skateboards and bikes. It is unsupervised, so children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by an adult.

The town also hosts summer sports camps for children in basketball, swimming, wrestling, dance, hockey and volleyball.

The true attraction of Jasper, however, still lies outside the town limits. People come here to go hiking, mountain climbing, whitewater rafting and other mountain-oriented activities. In the winter, Jasper also makes an excellent ski getaway. The local resort, Marmot Basin, offers 84 runs, with a balance of novice, intermediate and expert slopes that will please everyone.

The Jasper Adventure Centre (604 Connaught Drive) has daily summer tours to some of the park’s more famous attractions. They also do guided icewalks and rent equipment for snowboarding, dogsledding and snowmobiling. For a more relaxing way to get some exercise, the Jasper Park Lodge Golf Club has 18 holes open from May to October.
