In addition to the strolling musicians around town and Sunday in the Square at 8pm, there are plenty of other opportunities to hear live bands and dance or just bang on the table.

60-80's rock -- Capicoa, Ave. 15 at Calle 10 Norte, Fri. & Sat., 10pm-1am.
Grant "Sonny Winters" -- a rockin' good time. No Name Bar in Hotel Barracuda, Ave. R. Melgar, Tues. 7:30-9pm.
Aquino & Fuerza Latina - Cuban & Latin dance music & ballads. Some of these locations have cover charges.
- Sunday: Playa Azul Beach Club, 3pm (Salsa lessons start between 12-1pm, cost: 100 pesos)
- Thursday.: Neptuno's on Calle 11 Sur just east of R. Melgar, 11pm.
- Friday.: La Palapita del Medio (waterfront road in front of the Villablanca Hotel), 11pm-2am (Salsa lessons at 10pm - two 30 minute sessions at $5 each; drinks 2x1 during classes.)
- Saturday.: Plaza Benito Juarez 8pm or so.
Classic Rock and Reggae - Pirata's Restaurant & Sports Bar. (Between Chankanaab & Fiesta Americana). Thursday, Friday, Sunday 6pm - 9pm; Saturday 6pm-2 am.
Rock -- Ambar on 5th Ave. between Calle 1 and Salas - Wed-Sat. starting 10 or 11pm.
Rock with the band Ojo Rojo (Red Eye) - The Money Bar - Fri-Sun. 6-8pm
Tiki Tok on the malecon also has live music - primarily salsa & other latin dance music.
