Throughout the Islands of The Bahamas you will experience the unique island music, arts and crafts all inspired by the blend of British, African and Spanish cultures.  Junkanoo is the most famous of musical festivals, which occurs on December 26th and again on New Year's Day.  But don't worry if you miss the winter celebration because they also have the summer Junkanoo festival and smaller parades year-round.   It's colorful and vibrant costumes, dancing and music make for a great experience and long-lasting memories.

The many artisans on the island use the island and the sea for inspiration and resources for their art or craft.  You will find these unique items in local shopping areas like the Straw Market, where you can actually see people crafting hats, bags, woodcarvings, jewelry and more.

New providence's window to the world is The Bahamas International Film Festival. Now in its third edition, the Festival has gained popularity attracting more than 140 films by local and international filmmakers in its first two editions. This four-day event in the first weeks of December has also attracted the attention of renowned filmmakers such as Spike Lee and Roger Corman who attended the festival in previous editions.
