Adults may find that Nassau, Paradise Island and Cable Beach provide quite a bit of nightlife opportunities. It can be intense on the weekends but the rest of the week it may quiet down. In Nassau, there are some bars with live music such as the Green Parrot and Senor Frogs, a spot worth trying: it gets a nice, big crowd and it turns into a dance club at night. You can also dance downtown at Charlies, Fluid Lounge, Bambu on the Wharf, Envy and Club Waterloo. There's even a Rock and Roll Club just east of the bridge at Crazy Johnny's. Usually the minimum age for women is 18 and for men 21. But check with your hotel front desk to verify age requirements.
The Flamingo Cafe, next to Senor Frogs, has cuban music and entertainment on the weekends and a terrific humidor on the upper floor for those who enjoy a good cuban cigar. Hammerheads Bar & Grille is located on the Nassau side of the new bridge offering live music, food and drink. On weekends, the Fish Fry at Arawak Cay is alive with local music, karaoke, and Bahamian rake and scrape for all to enjoy. It's got great local food and flavor in an outdoor casual environment.
The major hotels have entertainment most nights. British Colonial Hilton has a Jazz vocalist, Sheraton Nassau Beach Resort has a local band in the lobby lounge, Marley Resort also has live music on Sunday nights and Wyndham Nassau Resort has 22 above, a chic nightclub offering live music on select nights. Most hotels have no cover or a limited cover charge or drink minimum. Atlantis Aura niteclub has a significant cover, especially if you are not a guest.
Gambling seems the big thing to do at night in New Providence. Atlantis Paradise Island Resort has an amazing Casino and Wyndham Nassau Resort also has a terrific casino, Crystal Palace Casino. They will meet your demands for some serious gambling as these casinos are fully equipped with blackjack, slot machines, craps, baccarat, and sports book betting facilities. They are two of the largest casinos in the Caribbean.
And, a great place for teens is Club Rush at Atlantis. It's a real party atmosphere with adult supervision, and parents can keep a close eye on their kids partying experience too. The club is open to pre-teens ages 6 to 12 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and teens ages 13 to 17 from 8:30 p.m. to midnight . There is no alcohol and the kids get a sense of a real party environment.
