St Thomas is not particularly known for its nightlife.  This is more of a beach destination intended for daytime activity.  However, there are dozens of places all over the island; from RED HOOK on the East end to Charlotte Amalie in the middle where you can find guitar players, bands, karaoke bars, jazz clubs and events at places like Yacht Haven Grand outdoor concerts.  Always check the special shows at the Reichhold Center on the campus of the University of the Virgin Islands..  There is little tourist activity at the West end of the island.

Read "This Week in St Thomas" tourist magazine available ON LINE and hard copy FREE at the airport and in most hotel lobbies.  The VI News publishes a special ISLAND TRADER free paper every Thursday which also has ads for most bars and restaurants that feature special entertainment and dining for St Thomas, St John and St Croix..Check with local bar and wait staff and hotel staff for the best up to date information about what is happening around the area.  Hotels and resorts are often the place where live entertainment takes place.  Some other local options to consider include:

  • The TAVERN ON THE WATERFRONT features Jazz on Friday Nights from 7pm 'til 10:30 pm.
  • The GREEN HOUSE is the most popular restaurant in the area.  They have a daily 2-4-1 Happy Hour every day.  The only entertainment is on Tuesdays at 9:30 pm.  A DJ spins tracks for dancing and all drinks are 2-4-1.  More information  online at http://www.thegreenhouserestaurant.com
