Water in Jamaica, as a rule, is safe to drink from the tap. You can also use tap water (known as pipe water in Jamaica) to clean your teeth, take a bath, cook food, wash clothing in, etc. just as you would at home. You can also place ice in your drinks. In some rural areas, about thirty percent of the land area of Jamaica and away from most tourist areas, piped water is not available and bottled water should be used. For additional information see the web site for the National Water Commission

If for some reason you choose not to drink the tap water, or it is not available, there are a number of brands of bottled spring water available at many shops and restaurants on the island as well as at the airports on departure. Some brands of Jamaican bottled water include: Lifespan, Tropical Blue, Silver Hill, Catherine's Peak, and Wata.
