Windsurfers Paradise

Imagine gin clear water, shallow depths, onshore breezes and sunny skies? Imagine standing on a board gliding across the sea holding a sail? It's an incredible feeling being one with nature. That is the experience of windsurfing. There are many known spots in the Caribbean to windsurf. Barbados has waves as does Cabarete, Aruba is a great all around island but the offshore winds are a challenge. Where to take your family or simply yourself to learn? Bonaire. Aruba's sleepy sister island, there are two shops at the island's windsurf area, Lac Bay. Each has a great beach bar and restaurant. Plenty of shade and chairs are available. Both offer professional instruction. It's paradise. Having the correct rig enhances the learning curve. Both shops, Jibe City and Bonaire Windsurf Place have great beginner gear rigged and ready. They are light with carbon spars and easy to handle rigs. Sure, the first few attempts can be maddening but in time with some patience you too can be up and sailing.
