Just a short, two-hour flight from most locations on the east coast of the United States, Bermuda is ideal for a weekend island getaway.

Although cooler temperatures prevail during the winter months, Bermuda really is a great year-round vacation destination.  However, if getting your feet wet is your preferred activity then the pink sand beaches and turquoise waters of this island paradise are perfect in spring, summer and fall.

Visitors have a wide variety of lodging choices including large hotel resorts with seaside locations and a bundle of amenities to smaller cottage colonies, apartments or guesthouses for a more intimate and relaxing environment.  Regardless of where you stay you’ll be close to water as no section of the island is more than three-miles wide.

Scooters are the preferred method of tooling around the island although the local bus system is handy for anyone too scared to try out the two-wheelers.  Taxi’s are available as well and can get expensive but the drivers are very knowledgeable about the island and many offer sightseeing tours to tourists for a pre-arranged fee.

Bermudians are some of the nicest people you’ll ever meet.  They are always willing to stop and help out a lost tourist with directions, offer advice on their favorite dining spots or just sit and chat about what a lovely day it happens to be.  The friendly natives, beautiful scenery and warm climate make Bermuda one of the nicest places on earth.
