Destinations of the Day
Grand Cayman, Caribbean
  • Resident population: 37,083 (est.)
  • Major features: beaches, Stingray City, water sports
  • 5,822 TripAdvisor reviews of 166 accommodations, 156 attractions and 151 restaurants
Grand Cayman's splashier side is the real draw. Offering a host of experiences, from petting attention- and food-seeking stingrays at Stingray City to exploring jaw-dropping drop-offs and dive sites, Grand Cayman is a watery wonderland.
Dubai, United Arab Emirates
  • Resident population: 1,422,000 Annual visitors: 6,120,000 (est.)
  • Major features: shopping, historic sites, beaches, nightlife, golf courses
  • 15,630 TripAdvisor reviews of 488 accommodations, 71 attractions and 374 restaurants
With its ultramodern skyline, it's easy to forget that Dubai, part of the United Arab Emirates, was once a small town of Bedouin traders.
Myrtle Beach, South Carolina
  • Resident population: 30,596 Annual visitors: 14,600,000 (est.)
  • Major features: golf courses, beaches, amusement parks, nightlife, casino cruises, fishing, shopping
  • 23,273 TripAdvisor reviews of 892 accommodations, 88 attractions and 338 restaurants
One may think the sun, 60 miles of wide sandy beaches and more than a hundred golf courses would be enough to lure vacationers to Myrtle Beach, but this popular coastal city offers even more to enjoy.
Paphos, Cyprus
  • Resident population: 27,000 (est.)
  • Major features: historic buildings, beaches
  • 9,033 TripAdvisor reviews of 252 accommodations, 21 attractions and 78 restaurants
Paphos, the capital of western Cyprus, has some serious historical clout. Site of the vast fourth-century BC Tombs of the Kings, set high on a cliff above the sparkling sea, as well as a dramatic Byzantine castle and fine mosaics, it's also known as the birthplace of the goddess Aphrodite.
Atlantic City, New Jersey
  • Resident population: 39,408 (est.)
  • Major features: The Boardwalk, casinos, beaches
  • 6,973 TripAdvisor reviews of 72 accommodations, 39 attractions and 281 restaurants
It's the East Coast's answer to Las Vegas. Atlantic City's casinos draw tourists by the car- and bus-load, but even if your main objective is to play some blackjack, you'll want to save time for sightseeing.
