Visiting Petrified Forest National Park, AZ

Boasting one of the world's largest and most diverse collections of petrified wood, fossils and prehistoric artifacts, Petrified Forest National Park takes visitors on a trip back 200 million years into history. Crystalline tree trunks lay broken and strewn across the Painted Desert as though cut by chainsaw, while fossils give proof of over 200 species of plants from the Triassic period. Through museums, cultural demonstrations and trails, the park provides a glimpse at the world in formation.
