Although it's just 35 minutes by ferry from Seattle, Bainbridge Island is a totally different world. Travelers who enjoy the outdoors can hike, bike or walk in the Bloedel Reserve or Fort Ward State Park. We took the Washington State Ferry to this island, and we are so glad we did! Once we arrived, we fretted on whether to rent a bike or walk. So glad we walked. It is slightly uphill (not strenous)...more
