Tropical Storm Hanna landed near the border between North and South Carolina early Saturday morning. The hurricane watch for the Carolinas has been canceled, but tropical storm alerts cover the Atlantic seaboard from the Carolinas to Massachusetts. Hanna is expected to bring heavy rains, wind and rough surf all along the coast.

My wife and I stayed at the Hawk and Ivy after learning that our usual Asheville place to go was full. I would rank the Hawk and Ivy as just "ok" as a B&B. (But hey, it's cheaper than others too.)...more
