We have been going to Salvatore Scallopini in Southgate ever since it opened years ago. The food is good (I wouldn't say "great"), but the atmosphere is nice, and if you go there enough, Vic the owner...more

  • Major features: golf courses, beaches, amusement parks, nightlife, casino cruises, fishing, shopping
  • 23,429 TripAdvisor reviews of 893 accommodations, 88 attractions and 338 restaurants
One may think the sun, 60 miles of wide sandy beaches and more than a hundred golf courses would be enough to lure vacationers to Myrtle Beach, but this popular coastal city offers even more to enjoy.
  • Resident population: 2,000 (est.)
  • Major features: beaches, water sports, nature tours
  • 6,122 TripAdvisor reviews of 85 accommodations, 21 attractions and 27 restaurants
Puerto Morelos, a peaceful village on the Mayan Riviera, offers visitors a glimpse of the real Yucatan. Closer to Cancun airport than Cancun is, Puerto Morelos makes an excellent base for those seeking someplace quieter than glitzy nearby hotspots, Cancun and Playa del Carmen.
Paphos, Cyprus
  • Resident population: 27,000 (est.)
  • Major features: historic buildings, beaches
  • 9,237 TripAdvisor reviews of 253 accommodations, 21 attractions and 79 restaurants
Paphos, the capital of western Cyprus, has some serious historical clout. Site of the vast fourth-century BC Tombs of the Kings, set high on a cliff above the sparkling sea, as well as a dramatic Byzantine castle and fine mosaics, it's also known as the birthplace of the goddess Aphrodite.
  • Resident population: 284,589 Annual visitors: 575,000 (est.)
  • Major features: beaches, water sports, duty-free shopping
  • 12,989 TripAdvisor reviews of 558 accommodations, 148 attractions and 101 restaurants
A warm, friendly welcome awaits on this Caribbean island. You can relax in the sun or surf, swim and snorkel on one of the abundant white-sand beaches.
Atlantic City, New Jersey
  • Resident population: 39,408 (est.)
  • Major features: The Boardwalk, casinos, beaches
  • 7,040 TripAdvisor reviews of 72 accommodations, 39 attractions and 281 restaurants
It's the East Coast's answer to Las Vegas. Atlantic City's casinos draw tourists by the car- and bus-load, but even if your main objective is to play some blackjack, you'll want to save time for sightseeing.
