Destinations of the Day
Honolulu, Hawaii
  • Resident population: 374,676 Annual visitors: 1,733,000 (est.)
  • Major features: beaches, surfing, Pearl Harbor, Diamond Head
  • 32,962 TripAdvisor reviews of 462 accommodations, 207 attractions and 1,130 restaurants
If you visit Honolulu simply for the wide Pacific beaches, the striking views of Ko'olau's pali (cliffs) and the laid-back "aloha" feeling, you'll be missing out on much this city has to offer.
Santorini, Greece
  • Resident population: 13,725 Annual visitors: 1,500,000 (est.)
  • Major features: beaches, architecture, archaeological sites
  • 14,972 TripAdvisor reviews of 662 accommodations, 24 attractions and 117 restaurants
Glamorous Santorini, in the southern Aegean's Cyclades islands, curves round a giant lagoon, a caldera left by a volcanic eruption.
Anaheim, California
  • Resident population: 331,804 (est.)
  • Major features: Disneyland, professional sports
  • 15,792 TripAdvisor reviews of 114 accommodations, 20 attractions and 219 restaurants
The Disney influence is everywhere in the city that was reborn in 1955 with the opening of Disneyland. Formerly a sleepy suburban town, Anaheim today is a vibrant tourist center with fine dining, shopping, festivals, myriad attractions and a range of accommodations.
Myrtle Beach, South Carolina
  • Resident population: 30,596 Annual visitors: 14,600,000 (est.)
  • Major features: golf courses, beaches, amusement parks, nightlife, casino cruises, fishing, shopping
  • 22,538 TripAdvisor reviews of 851 accommodations, 86 attractions and 337 restaurants
One may think the sun, 60 miles of wide sandy beaches and more than a hundred golf courses would be enough to lure vacationers to Myrtle Beach, but this popular coastal city offers even more to enjoy.
Atlantic City, New Jersey
  • Resident population: 39,408 (est.)
  • Major features: The Boardwalk, casinos, beaches
  • 7,108 TripAdvisor reviews of 72 accommodations, 39 attractions and 281 restaurants
It's the East Coast's answer to Las Vegas. Atlantic City's casinos draw tourists by the car- and bus-load, but even if your main objective is to play some blackjack, you'll want to save time for sightseeing.
