Visiting Fish River Canyon, Namibia

Africa's second-largest natural gorge (100 miles long and up to 17 miles wide), Fish River Canyon in southern Namibia is also the country's second most visited attraction. The Fish River Canyon Park conservation area includes the Ai-Ais Hot Springs Resort and the Huns Mountains, though the latter aren't yet open to the public. The 50-mile-plus Fish River Canyon Trail, beginning at Hobas (one of the canyon's main viewpoints) and ending at Ai-Ais, is one of southern Africa's most popular hikes.
