トルファンから深夜バスで敦煌を目指し、無事に到着。 バスターミナルから歩いてすぐのところに、日本人の集まる食堂?ある。(2008年現在閉店してしまったようだ)そこで親切な隋さんというおじさんに宿を紹介してもらう。とってもきれいな宿を紹介価格の安い値段で泊めてもらえた。 ミーシャンシャーと呼ばれる砂漠も自分で公共バスで行ける。町の人は親切な人が多く、道を教えてくれる。町も小さく、市場は遅くまで安くごはんを食べれる。ウイグルの羊肉で疲れた胃袋を豚肉が癒してくれた。 more

北京郊外の長城は明の時代のものですが、ここ敦煌には漢の時代の長城が残っています。一部は柵で囲まれていますが、延々と続く長城故、すこし脇の方は全くの無防備状態。かなり風化が進んでいますが、藁と土を重ねて築き上げた2000年前の長城に直接触れることができます。敦煌からは1時間以上車で走る必要がありますが、ガイド・ツアーの場合はお見逃しなく。 more

昔漢文で習ったあれです。正にここから先は中国ではない、二度と会えないかも知れないという辺境の関所。ですが、今はあとかたもなく、コンクリート製の味も素っ気もない復元物があります。しかし、紛れもなくこの場所が陽関だと思えば想像が無限に広がります。 more
