Although located three hours from the closest airport, Andorra la Vella is hardly hidden away, receiving millions of tourists every year. The high, mountainous terrain provides ample skiing opportunities throughout the winter and mountain getaways in the summer. The town itself is home to many ancient churches, notably the picturesque Esglesia de Sant Esteve and the Church of Sant Andreu. The Casa de la Vall, the seat of the Andorran Parliament, dates from the 16th century and is open to tours.
