Destinations of the Day
Acapulco, Mexico
  • Resident population: 616,394 Annual visitors: 5,000,000 (est.)
  • Major features: beaches, water sports, nightlife
  • 4,035 TripAdvisor reviews of 285 accommodations, 68 attractions and 134 restaurants
Mountain views, raucous nightlife and a C-shaped bay with a plethora of beaches make Acapulco a more upscale, yet reasonably priced, escape than its spring-break cousin, Cancun.
Langkawi, Malaysia
  • Resident population: 62,000 (est.)
  • Major features: beaches, tropical scenery, water sports, duty-free shopping
  • 5,718 TripAdvisor reviews of 85 accommodations, 59 attractions and 68 restaurants
Forested hills, white sand beaches and crystal-clear waters greet visitors to tropical Palau Langkawi, the largest of the 99 islands in Langkawi archipelago.
Oahu, Hawaii
  • Resident population: 905,034 Annual visitors: 1,733,000 (est.)
  • Major features: beaches, surfing, Honolulu, luaus, ecotourism
  • 38,515 TripAdvisor reviews of 675 accommodations, 368 attractions and 1,687 restaurants
Say aloha to tropical breezes, oceanfront luaus and iconic Diamond Head on Oahu, the most populated Hawaiian island. Follow in the sandprints of surfing forefather Duke Kahanamoku on Waikiki Beach, visit the royal quarters of Iolani Palace and tour Pearl Harbor.
Key West, Florida
  • Resident population: 22,364 (est.)
  • Major features: water sports, beaches
  • 25,161 TripAdvisor reviews of 678 accommodations, 156 attractions and 216 restaurants
Where else are Ernest Hemingway and Jimmy Buffett equally revered? Key West is a sunny, fun destination with enough sights to keep you busy when you're not snorkeling, parasailing or catching some rays.
Myrtle Beach, South Carolina
  • Resident population: 30,596 Annual visitors: 14,600,000 (est.)
  • Major features: golf courses, beaches, amusement parks, nightlife, casino cruises, fishing, shopping
  • 22,538 TripAdvisor reviews of 851 accommodations, 86 attractions and 337 restaurants
One may think the sun, 60 miles of wide sandy beaches and more than a hundred golf courses would be enough to lure vacationers to Myrtle Beach, but this popular coastal city offers even more to enjoy.
