Olympic National Park, the heart of Washington's Olympic Peninsula, is a vast wilderness area encompassing environments ranging from rain forests to snow-topped mountain peaks. Ringed by US 101, the park is accessible from all sides. Visitors can explore the tide pools and rocky outcroppings along 73 miles of protected coastline, or head deep into the interior of the park, where it's possible to ski along Hurricane Ridge in the winter, or camp in an old growth temperate rainforest in the summer.
