Visiting Badlands National Park, SD

Tens of millions of years of history are carved into the weathered spires, buttes and hoodoos of Badlands National Park, where ferrets, foxes, bighorns and bison roam over lands once walked by their Oligocene ancestors. Hike the park trails to experience dramatic views of the White River Canyon, the red rock splendor of canyons and castles of stone, or fossils testifying to the ancient history of the region. Visit the Big Pig Dig, to discover the remains of animals from 33 million years ago.
