What could be better than lunching on superb food and wines from a shaded deck overlooking a small lake and vineyard on a sunny Sunday afternoon.
My wife and I shared a masterful entree of seared scallops, beetroot-marinaded salmon and avocado/corn gravlax, which was washed down with a Brookland Valley semillon. My wife then enjoyed one of Flutes signature dishes of marron, barramundi and tasmanian salmon on a bed of goats cheese and macadamia nuts, accompanied by the estate's chardonnay. Meanwhile, I savoured duck with roast pumpkin and broccolini drizzled with a wonderful rich sauce, which I washed down wth a glass of shiraz. A side dish of rocket salad completed the experience.
We sadly resisted the temptation of one of Flutes' desserts.
